Fiscal Year 2010 Comprehensive Annual Financial ReportThe Comprehensive Annual Financial Report includes the management's discussion and analysis included in the financial section provides an overview of the Authority's financial activities and should be read in conjunction with the financial statements. The Statistical Section includes selected financial and demographic information. Major InitiativesFor the year. The Authority continues to pursue planning for meeting future upper basin water needs and plays a major part in the regional water planning process as well as coordinating ongoing studies of instream flows and bays and estuary needs. These studies are being performed to establish data to be used as a basis for management of ecological requirements in the Basin as well as determining the amount of water available in Toledo Bend for sale in the upper basin. Management of the Authority's resources also includes a permit application filed with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to secure 293,300 acre-feet of unappropriated Toledo Bend water rights; negotiations with several natural gas producers to sell Toledo Bend water for well completion; and negotiations with the City of Dallas on the renewal of the Lake Fork water supply contract.
